How to do 360 degree live streaming with RICOH Theta by USB UVC or hdmi output.

Not only youtube but also facebook can support 360 degree live




RICOH  theta  livestreaming have two output

First one  is  USB UVC output. it is 1280X720P ( old f/w )

The second is  HDMI live output . it is 1920x1080p 



How to let your RICOH theta live output?

press the "camera icon " first and then press the power icon together.


 


You can use Android phone or PC  as the live broadcast platform.


There are 3 method to let your RICOH theta livestreaming.


Method 1 :  android phone  + RICOH theta  USB UVC output

Method  2:  PC  + RICOH theta  HDMI output


Method  3:   + RICOH theta USB UVC output.


There are four step to do the livestreaming

實際應用是三種方法

Method 1 :  android手機 + RICOH theta  USB UVC 輸出

Method  2:  電腦 + RICOH theta  HDMI 輸出


Method  3:  電腦 + RICOH theta USB UVC輸出


步驟大致就是如剛剛圖片所示，有四個步驟

來源--> 取得dual fisheye raw data --> 軟體處理成 panorama 360度全景 --> 360度直播

誰有支持360度直播呢？

除了原本的youtube之後，最近臉書也開放一般人做臉書360度直播

臉書的360度直播設定比youtube更精簡一點

DV 攝影相機在WINDOWS MAC 採用OBS 做facebook youtube 直播

現在直播越來越普及，一般人可以用使手機內建的鏡頭做直播

但是手機的鏡頭畢竟是有極限的

比如,

無法拉近做特寫

沒有防手振

影像色彩沒有專業的 DV 攝影機專業

There are many parameter characteristic for your choice as below

Price , video latency,  output resolution and frame rate,  video scaler distortion , Power , dimension size,  USB3.0 compatible. ...


Video scaler distortion:

we wish the video do not have any distortion.

But, the hdmi have many kind of resolution and UVC output also have many kind of resolution.

Some software can not choose the uvc output resolution.  

if we do not add the video scaler ic , it do not easy to use

because hdmi input resolution/ frame rate must be equal the UVC output resolution and frame rate

for example:

hdmi source: 1920x1080p 60fps

uvc hdmi capture card have  1920x1080p , 1280x720p  , 720x480p uvc output.

SKYPE always get  1280x720p uvc

For this case,  hdmi input  do not equal uvc output.

if we do not add the video scaler ic,  it do not have any video.


After add the video scaler ic , it become the Independence between  HDMI INPUT and UVC output.


But, it will occur the video scaler distortion

it is a trade off  !!
